Wanted Korean man hangs himself at Manila airport


A Korean man wanted for fraud has hanged himself at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in the Philippines, a Korean news outlet said Friday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the man, surnamed Ahn, was found dead about 7:30 p.m. Thursday (local time) in the restroom of the immigration office at the airport.

Ahn was awaiting deportation after being caught secretly entering into the Philippines from Taiwan.

The Philippines Transportation Ministry said the man, 49, was wanted by Korean police and Interpol for investment fraud.

The Korean Embassy in the Philippines is verifying details of the incident through local police.
